Big weekend for the Calgary FreeRiderz

Back in September I was given the honour of becoming the club photographer for the Calgary FreeRiderz freestyle ski team. This past weekend members of the team competed in the provincial Slopestyle championship.  On the Men’s side there were 72 competitors including 5 members of the freeRiders.  Freeriderz had a very strong showing Kyler Tritter placed 3rd,  Cameron Duncan placed 1st in his group, Colin Hendrickson placed 4th  in his group and 5th overall, while his brother Mark placed first in his group and 1st overall.  It looked like so much fun – for or second or two I thought about debuting  the skiless snow pants tumble event – but at the last second I did manage to dig a boot in and save myself – unfortunately all photos of the mishap were mysteriously deleted.

Here are a few teaser photos – full video will be ready in a few days – just awaiting the sound track from RadioFlyer can’t wait to hear the new tunes

Happy New Year!

Once again it is a New Year, this year it is once again my resolution to update this blog. So, here it is I will update this blog faithfully every wednesday. It has been exceptionally busy over the past few weeks. I am currently working on rebuilding the website the blog and creating a facebook fan page.

To me it seems very conceited to create a fan page dedicated to yourself – however if one is to play by the rules with facebook this is the route one must take. The fan page is no where near readym however it is now up and running – though under construction.

The studio has been an interesting place as well. this week we had a Visit from Amanda Yakem from Illuminations Photography in Edmonton and a tripple cake smash – three little ladies came in for a get togehter to celebrate their first year.

It was not actually their birthday – but this was the first chance we had to celebrate.  After the birthday girls ate their fill of the cake, they decided to share with their older sisters.

Thank goodness Amanda was around to help with the cleanup. (Thank You Amanda)

Let’s Rock and Roll all night

Rock Star Day at the studio

Rock Star Day at the studio

Changing things up a bit at the studio. Last few weeks with the faerie pictures, it has been all about the girls. Saturday May 15 we will shift gears completely. The enchanted forest will be blasted out – replaced by leather jackets, mic stands and guitars. The pefect day for Rockers age 3-9 boys or girls. Call now as space is limited.

Solution for the Energy Crisis

Another busy week in the studio . Had a Visit from young Megan.  She brought with her brother chase and sister Amy. Chase was a ball of fire. Unfortunately, I did not take the time to  sit and play with the two older ones. I am sure we could have had some kinda fun Bambi. Well I will be seing them again in early december – this time outside. Here are a few from the day.

Lions and Faeries and Tigers. . . oh my

Well, I think I may have finnally done it – well if you can actually read this then, it would appear as though I have . After several days of banging my head against the wall I did it – I finally went to the dreaded instructions and figured out how to create a bit of a blog. I hope to take time at least once a week to try to let you know what is going on or coming up in the studio.

For instance, this week face painter extrodinare Sheree Andrews AKA Bubbles the Clown of Didsbury’s own Giggle gang, sent me 8 of her human Canvases  for a shoot for her web page I have never tried that sort of event setting so many shoots up in one evening like that. I really did not know what to expect . I was really quite surprised. We had so much fun – all the kids in the studio quite  a lot of energy – I shot so many pictures here are a few.

Some of you that followed some of my earlier posts on facebook or flickr may remember an earlier photoshoot  Sheree and I collaborated on for that maternity project.

1 web

the belly painting and face painting with an 8×10 photo to preserve the moment are available by contacting either myself or Sheree, watch right here for up coming specials and news about  a spectatular new project – may have said too much already . . .
